I was born and grew up in Columbia, SC. My husband and I married in 1992. He was in the Air Forcce, so we have lived in some fabulous places including New Mexico, Turkey, and North Dakota. We have two children: Teya (10) and Chandler (8).
I graduated from Minot State University (Minot, ND) in 1996 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. My first teaching job was first grade at E.M. Rollins. Then, I moved to Cresset Christian Academy in Durham where I taught K-4, first, and second grades. My next stop was Pee Dee Academy in Mullins, SC teaching sixth grade Language Arts and Social Studies. While there, I received my Masters in Ed. from Francis Marion University (Florence, SC) in 2006. My family returned to Wake Forest in 2008, and after some time off, I am excited to return to Vance County Schools!
